heh no, was just curious . seeing if there was anything that could be done to keep performance up after sitting in traffic

Not usually a problem. If you're worried, get a temp gauge first and see if your conditions require heat to be addressed. Space is a little tight for a fan. People with heat issues usually opt for a bigger cooler. Either one from an old oil-cooled GSXR1100 (low $) or the aftermarket (big $).

Has anyone added an oil temp guage to thier bike? I did a search and didn't find a permanent and accurate solution. If there is an easy way to add one it would be great to put a wright-up in the FAQ...any takers?

I checked mine with a non-contact thermometer gun. It's a handy tool to have anyhow. Helps find out how hot a cylinder is running compared to others.

I have a nordskog digital. Trust me, you probabally don't want to know how hot you run...

That looks interesting, kedeg. How difficult was it to install? How accurate is it? Where did you get it? Can I ask any more questions?

It is very accurate as I have it measuring the oil as it comes out of the pan before the cooler. Suzuki uses a plug that you remove and screw in a earl's plumbing metric adapter for the Nordskog sending unit. Two wires, one to a ground and one for power. It is backlit so everyone at the stoplight knows how hot ya are and it has a high temp recall. The gauge was $65 and the adapter for the pan was $11.00. I had to go from std thread to a metric.
I bought from Nordskog direct because Summit Racing was backordered.

It took about 30 minutes to do it. The hardest part was getting the balls to saw my fairing.

If you look at the left side of the pan there is a plug that you remove and install the sending unit adapter.

or any 1/8" to 16mm x 1.5 adapter from Earl's.
