« on: April 03, 2006, 09:17:56 PM »
Hello all, I was thinkin' (my first problem  ) about using a gsxr steering stabilizer on my '97 b12s. I can't seem to find a decent fiche view or picture of the brackets I'll need to scrounge or make. Any ideas ? :thanks:

I was going to do this too, I didn't want to spend ~$400 on a commercial bandit stabilzer kit.  Instead, I bought a used GSXR damper off ebay for $15 or so.  Typically on the gixxers, the damper mounts on a little tab that sticks out below the two main bolts that holds the headlight/ferring bracket.  Our banditos don't have this tab, so you would need to weld one on there.  Also you would need to make a fitting that went around one of your forks.

I have not done this yet, but hope to sometime this summer.  I would be curious to hear how you mount yours.

Other options include mounting the stabilizer to the top tripple tree bracket (next to the handlebar mount) and to the frame, but I'd imagine you would need some custom pieces made to get everything to align properly.

Sorry not much help, but good luck!
