I got an 01 bandit 600 trying to upgrade my front forks to go along with new rear shock package. Following the book, removed forks from bike, remove cap and got the old spring, spacer, washer and drain the oil. The next step in the book was to remove the cylinder bolt on the bottom. I guess this will let the rest of the inners fall out. The cylinder bolt will not release, both forks, the bolts just spin and will not come out. Talked to dealer suggested to put everything back together, tried that but could not get the spacer all the way back in. When I removed the everything the first time the spacer was just below the cap. All this was done without oil trying to get some tension back on the cyliner bolt. This was my first attempt at a fork rebuild but spending six hours about ready to throw it in the trash. Need some tips here on getting that bolt out or getting everything back together.
