RS carbs are well worth the cash. WP rear shock was a simple bolt in, without the airbox it was an easy swap without removing the swingarm. Removed the rear pegs, no one is crazy enough to ride on the back anyway.

Used the left attachment point to mount the reservior. On the right, I had an exhaust hanger made along with the sidecovers.

Very close to completion in building a kick a$$ street rod.

I like it. Except the stickers. I only put one on my bike, Ivan's, to piss of Griff on max-suki when I post pictures.

did you get the WP shock with or without dampening adjustment?

If not adjustable, what did you tell them at WP to adjust it to? riding style? Im considering purchasing one soon myself.

When ordering, specify rider weight, type of riding, chasis setup ect. The shock is then built to your specific application. All damping-rebound and compression- is valved internally and not externally adjustable on the Durasport. The Ultrasport has external damping adjustments and cost about $150 more - in Ohlins and Penske price range.

The reservoir serves as a gas radiator and keeps the nitrogen and oil seperate via an internal bladder. This allows for increased oil capacity and provides better cooling to keep the internal damping forces consistent.

The Durasport is a very good street shock for a reasonable price. Again, mine was lightly used so I did not pay full retail. I also have over $300 in front suspension upgrades and was not gonna compromise on the rear by replacing with other stock junk

It is a tough call but it will out perform and out last any replacement stocker.

How did you get one lightly used? Did you find the right shock, or buy a different WP shock and get it reworked?

I too have money into my front suspension. Racetech gold valves and springsi n the front so I've been considering a good aftermarket shock for the rear. I just hope I can find it somewhere less than $560.

I believe mine came off an '03, bought it off a web board-don't remember which. The seller pulled the shock before selling his bike. I was prepared to send it in for service- about $120- but after talking to the WP folks and inspecting the shock, they did not think it was necessary due to its low mileage and use.

These shocks will go 30,000-40,000 miles before needing service. The problem is that most guys who buy the B12 are not in the market for an aftermarket rear, so they are hard to come by used.

I plan on keeping the Bandit for many years, therefore do not mind spending money on quality components that will last.

Did you ever say how much it cost you? I know what they cost new, but how'd you do picking it up second hand? Just curious.

At $125 it was a steal, its probably worth $250 to a determined buyer. I figured even if it needed service, I would still have less than $250 into it.

I would have bought a new one anyway - probably would have sprung for the Ultrasport though. You only live once

Sticker shock will come when its time for a replacement on the 900SS.

Fork tubes are on the way to the suspension shop for Gold Valve install. Should be back in a week. Ride report will follow.

Gonna get it on the dyna with the stock headpipes and see what she does. I am thinking 130bhp should be obtainable as is. Since I am running both 750 cams, I think the stock headpipes preserve a little midrange, don't want to create a crater at 4500-6000 rpm..

If she does not come close to 130bhp, I guess I will have no choice.

If that is the case, I will have identical dyno runs with only the head pipe being different. should be very interesting.

Ed,yes , I will interested to see your result. Yoshie headers on my 12 with just jetting , K&N gave it a dip around 4 to 5000 but i did gain at the other end . Now with cams and stage 3 I feel I have somewhere round 130 maybe even a bit more ? Gaz.
