Rearset of a different bike
« on: March 19, 2006, 08:04:59 AM »
If i where to buy a rear set from another bike like R1 or gsxr,  does anyone know if they'll fit? With minor adjustments offcourse..
I really don't want to pay 400$ for a VorteX rearset, and i found alot of used ones in great condition on ebay for about 50$...

If anyone has made a rearset switch on their bike I would be very interrested in opinions..!

The bike in question is a 97 Bandit 600...

I'm not aware of anything from another bike that is an easy fit.

There are options that are cheaper than a set from Vortex though.

There's the $200 Holeshot rearsets. These will move your feet back about 1" and up 1".

There's the NWS footpeg jackup kit for £49.95 - £57.45. These will put your feet up 20mm and back 35mm and just relocate the stock footpeg brackets. I've got a set of these I picked up on sale a few years ago and I love 'em.

Banditmania's £42.54 kit is similar to the NWS kit and it moves the pegs up 25mm and back 25mm.
(£30.63 for the brackets + £11.91 for the longer shift rod.)

If you have any fab skills, you can make a set of these peg jackup plates pretty easy and taylor them to put your feet where you want.
