New 1250 owner saying hi and asking questions
« on: August 18, 2007, 06:27:13 PM »
Greetings
I have had my 1250 for a couple months and currently have added:
Yosh TRS slip on
Laminar touring lip
SW Motech side and rear racks with Givi E460/E21 bags

Overall I love the bike.  My previous scoot was a V Strom 1000 and the Bandit suits me much better.

My only complaint thus far is the handlebars.  I want to change them to somethig with more center rise and less end rise.  Does anyone know the stock measurements for the bars.  I tried to measure them but it is tough on the bike.

Other than that I will probably change the seat at some point and try a different windshield after I hear some real world feedback on the various offerings.

Hi mojokim! I'm wondering how you like the Laminar Touring Lip and where you go it?
Four wheels move the body. Two wheels move the soul.

I got it from laminar lips website.  It is a huge improvement in wind protection.  I no longer feel like I am going to get blown off the bike.  The downside is wind noise.  It's not bad with earplugs but without it is pretty loud.  I would like to try a Givi or Ermax but I'd like to hear some reviews before I spend the dough.

I have just installed the Laminar Touring Lip on my 2007 1250S.  I am very pleased with the wind protection, which now is directed to my helmet rather than my chest.  The air stream is steady with no turbulence.  I am 5' 10", ride with a full face helmet.  I was concerned with with "glued on" attachment system but I had the bike up to 130 MPH for a few seconds and nothing came loose, so I am not concerned about the attachment issue.  I typicaly cruise at 85 mph and at that speed the wind is not an issue.  Also, I did not notice any more noise than with the stock screen, but then again, I use ear plugs.
