They just listed these at Twisted Throttle for $415:

Available in factory OEM colors or unpainted.

I believe these are the same fairings that SuMoCo will be offering. I like it... but I'm wondering about the two wedge-shaped holes in the side.... probably for air flow through the radiator, but I'm thinking some black mesh screen would look better.

I'm still waiting to see what the price is gonna be for these at my dealer... but here's the link:

I agree about those gaping holes. It seems a little pointless to have a fairing for a bit of weather protection and then have those holes. It's a bit like having holes in your helmet visor.

Yeah, that's why I thought about the screen... a piece of black metal mesh cut to fit and attached on the inside of both holes... wouldn't restrict airflow much but it would stop any debris, and probably raindrops to a point...

If it was to aid airflow from the radiator it should have been possible to design louvred slots that would let air flow from the rad to the outside but not let air, water and muck from the outside to hit the rider. I'm really puzzled. It seems to me that it's just a styling exercise but I'm wanting to buy a fairing for practical reasons, not aesthetics alone.

Not only do I have to buy a Fenda Extenda to do the job of a properly-designed front mudguard, I now have to modify the fairing to make it keep the bike and myself a bit cleaner. It strikes me that designers aren't riders.

I like the looks, but I'm not spending $415 unless I think it'll afford protection too.

The radiator is 18-3/4" wide, the screws you see in front of the "holes" are the same screws that hold the metal covers on the radiator ends. It's hard to tell without a frontal view, but it looks like the fairing itself extends outwards quite a bit... and the lower part of the fairing looks like it'll protect your shins pretty well.

I know I'll be taking a risk, but I took a risk when I ordered this bike sight-unseen and it was definitely the right choice. I'm guessing it'll give adequate protection to be worth it, but I'm still waiting to see what kind of price my dealer can get me one for.

I like the looks of the lowers Suzuki showed on the bike in the shows better than the TCP one.
Here's a refresher pic:

Earlier, I had guessed TCP made it, partly because they provided the "factory accessory" fairing lowers in EU for the 2G. The pic Zen posted is basically the same fairing TCP offers for the '06, tweaked for the '07's radiator. It appears someone else is providing the lowers for the current body style.

Or maybe it appears that the show bike was a mock-up and what Zenman showed was what is going to be shipped.

It's also possible that the pic I got from TwistedThrottle/TCP actually shows the one for the B650S, and the showbike pic Red just re-posted is the one for the B1250S.

I hope so, because I like the showbike one better.

Both thoughts are possible, but the pic Zen posted is exactly what their lowers for the 3G '05-'06 650 & '06 1200 look like, so it appears they've just tweaked the molds to fit the '07 650/1250 waterpumpers. Looking at the Suzuki UK site, they're showing the TCP lowers in Zen's pic, but that's only for the '06 model.

) I called Twisted Throttle and they said the fairing pictured fits both the 650S and the 1250S.

HOWEVER...

They also informed me that if TCP is making lowers for Suzuki, they are most likely different.

Something to do with patents or copyrights or whatever. In order for Suzuki to stamp their name on them, they can't be the same.

So I am going to wait and see what Suzuki will be offering... I like the showbike lowers better, and hopefully that's what they'll be.

That doesn't seem to jive with what's shown on the Suzuki UK site. The factory accessory lowers they show for the 2G & 3G are identical to the ones TCP shows on their site... in fact, the 3G picture used on the Suzuki UK site is the same picture as on the TCP site! The UK site even mentions the color shown is not a UK color. LOL

Yeah, but the pics on the UK Suzuki site and the same pic on the TCP site (the silver bike) both state that it is for the 650... if it's the same one that fits the 1250, or even the '06 1200S, then why isn't it listed as such?

I see what your saying Red, and you could be right, but there's no way to be sure until somebody gets one in their hot little hands.

So I'm in no hurry, I'm going to wait and see what the Suzuki ones look like. Maybe Metisse or some other company will have a different version by then.
