Wish Me Luck Guys
« on: February 24, 2008, 03:19:14 AM »
Trying to do a deal on a RED 2007 Bandit 1250........dealer will call me Monday with the news.

I currently ride a 2006 Triumph Sprint ST 1050 Sport Tourer and it's a great bike but I miss the naked bikes, so I'm trading in (or selling outright) the Sprint.
I had two Kawasaki ZRX's before the Trumpet.
Been riding for 20 some years or so an I'm in Southern Cal.

I really like the Bandit's half fairing the 6 speed tranny and the fact that it has a center stand....too bad Suzuki didn't bump up the HP when they increased the CC's but I read the maximum torque is now made at 3,700RPM instead of 6,700RPM and maximum HP comes on 1,000RPM's sooner too, that should help wear out the rear tire faster!

Anyway I hope I get the bike, if not I'll probably keep my Sprint for awhile longer.

Good luck on striking the deal!  :bandit:
Lots of satisfied 1250 owners here.

That Sprint is a nice ride, too. :thumb:

The Sprint ST 1050 is a bike I'm very interested in. You have any comments for the rest of us based on your experience?

Likely, you'll love the B12.5 as well, and like you, I'm smitten with the image of the 1/2 faired Bandits as well, but I might be looking for a slightly different experience for my next bike.

If you want a Sport/Tourer with the emphasis on SPORT the Sprint is it.

It's lighter than a FJR or Honda ST1300 ect.......so it's more fun in the twisties.
Plenty fast with 125HP and 6 speed.
I hit 157 indicated (I weigh 290) and it was still pulling........but  ran out of road,

OK, more Sprint 1050 Q's...

I haven't riden one, so I can only go by what I read on this bike and the press has complained of the seat feeling like a board with vinyl on it and also lodged complaints about exhaust heat - and these rides are generally in SoCal.  There's also complaints about the bags leaking - at least on the earlier 1050's. What's your take on those issues?

Do you ever carry a pillion?  If so, what's their take on comfort back there?  My wife won't go on long rides on my B12 due to the pillion pegs' location being too high for her comfort.  The 1250 is no different in that department, which pretty much shoots it down as being a 'next bike' for me, but a ST machine will likely be my B12's replacement.

Seat is fine by me, plenty comfy, and I'm a BIG guy, 290lbs.
EVERY full fairig bike produces heat, TRIUMPH did add foam insulation in the mid-2006 models and would add it NO CHARGE on any models before that if the customer asked for it.
I don't think the heat the SPRINT put out was any worse than any other full fairing bike I ever rode.
TRIUMPH redesigned the bags and there's no more leaking problems, it was handled under warranty.
I don't ride 2 up so no input on that.

MY BEAUTIFUL CASPIAN BLUE SPRINT IS FOR SALE! Call me if you're interested (951) 218-0501 (Jerry)
I wish I could afford 2 bikes, I'd keep it.
BTW.....It would be a FANTASTIC ride on a SPRINT back to Washington!  :bigok:

:thanks: for the offer, but as much as I'd like to take you up on it, I'm just not ready to buy another ride quite yet.  Seems every time I think I'm close to being able to justify the expenditure, something comes up that's a higher priority.

Picked her up from the dealer today!
Only rode about 20 miles back home but I staggered the speed and made sure I rode at different RPM's.....pretty smooth bike.....some "slight" vibration coming through the bars but it's still breaking in and it's a motorcycle!

Man I forgot HOW HARD those darn "warning" stickers are to take off!!
Why can't they make them so they come off all in one piece!!  :annoy:

Congratulations from a Red B1250 owner. And don't worry, compared to my sold 05 B1200, the B1250 has more powers only a privious owner can appreciate LOL. Again congrats and Lords will out there on the road.

GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHR!

That pic makes me want mine more.  Just a few more weeks.

Great color and it looks great with the hard cases.
