Zero Gravity ST Windscreen install issues

I installed the Zero Gravity ST windscreen.  When I turn the front wheel as far as it will go to the left (left hand turn) the front brake at the very end touches the edge of the windscreen.  

Is there a way to safely adjust the position of the front brake handle to avoid this?  Any other suggestions?

[Granted I will unlikely be making such an extreme turn of the handlebars unless I am getting the bike in and out of the garage ... but ]

Loosen the bolts on the clamp and rotate it forward!

Tried that - couldn't get them to budge.  Even with my drill and a nut driver attachment.  Before I forced anything I thought I'd ask.  Suppose I could rotate the handlebars a bit instead.

Can you get clearance by adjusting the knob on the lever?

Wow - I hope I don't sound too much of a newb here - which knob is that?  I know there is a large round knob on the brake with numbers 1-4.

That's the one. The different numbers will put the lever in different positions.

Mine always touched especially with the installation of the GL hand guards. But only when I was forcing steering standing still turning from one extreme to the other. Never did it make contact during actual riding, not even during a u-turn, so it became a moot point with me.

Using the round knob for adjustment will adjust the feel of the brake, right?  If the windshield is being touched by the part of the brake nearest the hinge would this still help me?  

As I think about it, I probably need to loosen the bolts on the side (facing the driver) and tilt the whole brake a bit up or down to give more clearance.

Turning that knob will move the brake lever in closer or further away for you.  It's the distance from the bars, and conversely possibly also distance from your windscreen.

Got it - since it is not the lever that bumps the shield but the piece the lever attaches to (that then mounts to handlebars) - making that adjustment won't help.

OH!! I wonder if the reason you can't move that control is the same as my 919:

If you take the couple of screws out of the bottom, and take the control apart, you may find that there's a plastic or metal tab that fits into a drilled hole in the handlebars.  This dictates the position of the control on the bars.  I personally just removed the tabs on both sides and tilted the controls the way I wanted. (two days ago)  The draw back of that is that I still haven't adjusted the 100% to where I want them, and hit the horn instead of the signal light cancel from time to time. :lol:

I didn't like Honda dictating to me where my levers should be, because as it turns out, their position isn't quite natural for me (since the bike seems to be built with a 5'10' person in mind and I'm a half foot under that.) Not to mention the fact that I just installed clubman bars on the thing, and didn't want to drill into those.

Yes, the OEM Bandit bars & controls are pinned together like that (at least on the 600/1200). Easy enough to "fix" - just break the little tab off. You may find they won't clamp the bars hard enough with the pin gone. If that's the case, you can always put a wrap of electrical tape on the bar to fatten it up a bit and hold things in place better.

Small socket set [5/16"] and 3 minutes solved the problem.  Loosened two small bolts, slightly pivoted the front brake down and we are good to go - thanks for the help.
