FS: 91 Bandit 400 in Michigan
« on: October 29, 2010, 11:23:01 AM »
I know it's the wrong season, but I need to free up some cash.  Please tell me if my asking price suggests I've been smoking crack.

I found the bike 5 years ago for sale after it had been sitting for about 10 years. I spent the winter fixing up the bike and enjoyed it as my first motorcycle. I replaced the stock exhaust with a Vance & Hines exhaust I found in California and re-jetted the carbs. In addition, I replaced the turn signals with some low profile signals. The bike comes with the stock pipes and turn signals, new brake pads, and a few oil filters. I’ve maintained the bike very well since I’ve had it. It has no issues. The bike has a clear title in my name and is ready to ride. I hate to see it go, but I need the cash more than I need the bike.

Currently has 57xx miles.  I bought it with 36xx miles.

Asking $1700 (Craigslist asking price is $1900)

P.S. the oil on the floor in the pics is from my girlfriends 72 honda, which is not for sale. :-)

Wow, if I took off my fairing it'd be the twin of your bike.  I think the price is a smidge high, but that's for the market to decide.

I put mine up for sale at the wrong time too...will probably sit for sale till spring/summer.

Best of luck with the sale!

My bike has 57xx miles. When bikes with three times the miles are listed for a few hundred less than mine, I have to think I'm in the ballpark.  That said, I am open to offers.  Not going to get down to $700, though.   :yikes:

Thanks for the bump.

Yeah, I know my price is a bit high, just saying

Besides I have to leave some room to bargain with, right.

to your statement below, I agree...every time I take it somewhere a bike mechanic will really be into it.  Maybe I should try to sell it to someone working at a local bike shop or something.

I guess what I was getting at was that I don't think your price is high.  I think it's a fair price for an awesome bike.  I really think the cool factor associated with the b400s more than makes up for it's lack in displacement and age.  It really does get attention at all of the bike gatherings I go to.

Jeeze! I'm talking myself out of selling it...   :duh:

Awesome, congrats!
I'm thinking I'll have better luck with mine come spring.
