Any Canadian Sources for Apparel/Stuff?
« on: April 09, 2006, 12:04:41 PM »
I'm sick of sending all my dough south of the border.  What do you guys do?  I have a sister-in-law in Ann Arbor who just brings my stuff across for me so it saves me duty/shipping fees.  I know there's a place in Calgary.  Anywhere else people have had good luck with??

I'm thinking clothing, helmets, gloves, hard bags, tires, etc.

take care

Jim

Yeah, I get kinda tired of it though!  Spending money is fun for a while then I just wanna puke if I have to spend anymore!

Still need a tinted visor, however, and some better boots, and some good rain gear would be nice, and a two man tent would be great and a .....you get the idea!! :duh:

The best place I've found so far is the Motorcycle Superstore down at 47 River street in Toronto, near Queen and Parliament area.

Motorcycle Superstore Inc - Used Motorcycles, Service, Parts, Accessories and Gear - 47 River St. Toronto Tel:416-364-8889

They have an ebay store as well I believe.

You cannot beat their prices on name brand jackets, last years models etc.

Royal is a favourite of mine too.

I hate that place! Never, ever, ever, ever, ever (did I already say NEVER EVER) go thier for service. They had my bike for 2 months last year and it still ran like shit. It's right around the corner from me, but they'll never get a penny of my cash again. Bloody pricks. Even thier good deals on old gear won't entice me!

It's not like we have great stores on this side of the border, either.  A Cycle Gear location just opened here, but I have done almost all my shopping online, where I get a choice of brand, size, and color and prices that beat any dealership.  I'd like to support my local dealers, but they don't even really seem to be trying.

Which place is this?  I live in Edmonton, but make regular trips to Calgary.

I normally try to support my local dealer here in Cranbrook, but I have bought stuff from Blackfoot Motorsports in Calgary. Decent selection of riding gear and MotoCross boots.

However, I ordered a Zero Gravity Double Bubble windshield from my local dealer in December. They had to order through Importations Theibault in Quebec. 4 months later, it is still not here. Had me thinking as Dennis Kirk has likely has them in stock and will ship within a week...

Alright,.. I'll keep them in mind the next time I get down there.  I think we tried to pop by there the last time we were there, but got there a little too late.  I'll let you know how I make out when I get there.

jbrough:

Royal Distributing is pretty good, but unless you pick it up, you have top pay shipping.  They are fast though - couple days if they stock it.  Longer if they need to order.

The best one I've found around my area is GP Bikes in Ajax.  The have tones of gear (2 1/2 stores) and they can order pretty much anything.  Only a small portion of what they stock is online.

Thanks, Jad.  I went into Royal expecting to be impressed and, I dunno, I was ignored and the boots i wanted all seemed lots of money.

I don't mind being ignored at home or at work but it t's me off to be ignored in a store!
