Where the heck are you Canucks??

Is everybody out on their bikes?  Don't see you guys around too much!!

I got it - you're all Leaf fans and you're pouring over the free agent pickings for next year!

Put on over 600k on my BMW F650 this weekend!  Dealer says my '06 1200sa is delayed until mid May  Hopefully I will be riding it on May 24 weekend

How do you like the F650?  I was kinda interested until a dealer in newmarket gave me 2 bills off a bandit 650!

For some reason, I love that creamy green colour on the big thumpers!

F650 is a dual purpose motorcycle which means it can travel on tarmac, gravel or offroad.  It is an excellent machine which is very easy to ride and has a fair bit of power for a thumper (50hp).  It is not however a great street bike because it is quite light and sports semi-knobby tires.  Since I do most of my riding on secondary highways I decided to trade the BMW for a G3 B12 with abs.  The redesign for 2006 of the b12 is similar to that given to the G3 B6 last year.  How do you find the wind protection with the redesigned fairing??

I'm finding it to be about what the mags say - it's okay up to 120 or so but then after that, lot's of crap hitting you.

But I come from an old clunker which looked grotesque with a fairing on!  So I rode kinda naked all the way out to British Columbia and back, through the states.  Just got used to the wind, so the bandit is fine.  It seems to protect the knuckles and knees a bit also, which supprised me.

Have you seen those 'double-bubble' fairings that are supposed to be a bit better?

Or the beatle bags for your bike? - they really are the coolest thing i've ever seen!

Have you heard if our bikes are the same?  Just basically the engine difference?  Maybe the worst thing about the 2006 650's and 1200's is it seems there's no more accessories made for our machines!

take care.

I think the G3 650 and 1200 have the same frame and panels.  Major difference being the engine.  I need to get a givi monorack to attach a hard top case.  Givi doesn't have one yet to fit the '06 b12 and may not until mid summer.  After checking their web site I noticed that the G2 600 and 1200 used the same model monorack.  I am guessing that the rack that fits the G3 650 will also fit the G3 1200!?  Not sure I want to gamble $150 to find out for sure.  Since the G3 bikes are not being sold in the US, I think it may be difficult to find after market parts for these models.  Givi and Kappa will probably come out with a line of windshields, racks and engine guards but there is some question as to whether the Bandits will meet the new Euro 3 emission standards and if not may be discontinued in Europe.

Be a shame, that's for sure....

I want to get some kind of luggage for my bandit but not sure yet just what...I plan on doing lots of k's this summer and so far have just taken a little backpack and bungied it onto the pilion - it actually worked quite well - only downside is i can't move around as much when i get a tired but.  You have stock seat?  I'm thinking of something diifferent - buddy of mine nearby does motorcycle seats for $75 so I'm thinking just add on a bunch of soft foam and recover!

Dunno.
