Wazzzz Zappinng ride report update
« on: May 02, 2008, 10:57:52 AM »
So the May long weekend is coming and I haven't heard one word or seen one post about a summer ride.

Has everyone fallen off the edge of the world, or slipped into a Syncrude tar pond?  :stickpoke:
Who knows it might just stop snowing and there we will be without a plan.  :duh:

I have a feeling that Bandits are actually supposed to be ridden, and there are DH's in the southeast corner of BC that are going short of two wheel traffic.  Sooooooo ?

tailings pond..... and i rode past it today, but i didnt notice any cannons. but im not sure where they keep theres since i work at suncor. i also think its funny(well not really) that 2 days before the ducks all died, a guy in a pick up got run over by a 797 and no one really seemed to care about him as soon as the ducks landed... poor guy... didnt even get his 10 minutes of fame.

Hey Tony

I'm still hoping to head out to Vancouver Island May 9-12th.

Then I'm off on my big yearly trip to California May 23-30th

June is looking good for some DH rides in the area. How's your schedule look?

Hi Paul

I just got back from a couple of weeks on the Island and I will be camping in Tofino for the last week of July and first week of August.  Beyond that I'm pretty open.

I would like to get out for at least one two or three day ride in the next moth or so.

Hi Tony

Agreed...I'm busy until the 1st week of June, but otherwise June is open.

Keep an eye on this post as well, because you WILL want to do this trip with Bobcat and Red01!!

I saw that post and yes I would like to join in, however, I am limited to not much more than a weekend and a day or two at the most,  Leaving the wife home with work and four dogs to walk is not the sort of thing I get away with all that often.

One last run for the year?

I'm set to go. Leaving on Friday September 5th and returning on the 8th.
I don't have a route planned as yet, but I want to visit DH 2, possibly both ways and of course DH 5 and DH 1.  I can really use a trip and should have nice new tires for the ride. BT021s

It would be nice if it didn't involve riding in hail like last year.  :annoy:

Hi Tony

I'll see what I can work out, but I think I'm busy that weekend... :annoy:

I want to make at least two more trips this year yet...but stay tuned.

Awesome -  I hope to bring my boy along. He rides an R6 so we don't have to wait too long for him at the corners. :stickpoke:

At this point I know I want to spend one night in Nelson. (cause I never have) but that is as far as my plans have gone.

Ok
I have a tenative schedule
Friday night to Revelstoke.
Saturday Revelstoke to Needles and Vernon and back, up around and down to Nelson.
Sunday Nelson up to New Denver to Kaslo and down to Creston and Cranbrook.
Monday Cranbrook to home.

That is a lot of kilometers for a three day ride, and the long range is looking pretty good -- so it should be do able.  However as it's the last real blast before the snows and I need to make it count.    :burnout:

Too bad you weren't dipping south of the border... looks like I'm gonna be having a bit of free time starting Sept 4.  Looks like my union and my employer are at an impasse over a new contract.  Just not a lot of disposable income to enjoy it with.  Otherwise, I 'd head up there.

I looks like my son is not able to make the trip either.  Still my saddlebags are on the bike and my gear is in a near stack, I'm off on Friday shortly after lunch.

The weather is looking not too bad, although a bit colder that I had hoped.

I'm back and it was a good trip.  I was in Nelson for the Queen City Hot Rod run and what a great time.  Lots of really nice cars and not so many bikes.

I will do a bit of a report in a day or three when I have had a chance to down load the photos and collect my thoughts
