Wow, what a bike!
« on: May 11, 2007, 09:52:48 PM »
Hey all,

Just purchased an '01 1200s w/20k km. Immaculate shape, great deal. It's great to find a forum for these bikes. The wife was bugging me to go for a Bandit if I sold the old 89 Katana, and I'm glad I did (she knows her stuff).Last year I was riding my buddy's VTR1000 for a month and there's no comparison when it comes to sheer torque and midrange power - not to knock the VTR, it's a great bike, but with my $670 p/year for insurance, I'll take the bandit any day!

shiny side up-see you out there.

Not to mention the B12 gets better fuel economy and has a bigger tank than the gas guzzlin' VTR. Probably more comfortable than a VTR, too.

gas mileage isn't too bad I think. I've been riding to work & back (only 4km 1 way) and a quick couple of trips around town each day after work just to get the engine hot before I go home. 10 bucks has easily lasted me the week. Yesterday went for a trip down 'Hockley' - which is a popular (twisty) riding road around here and put on another 80 - 100 km and today I need fuel so we're doin' ok!

I visit Bradford every month, in the warm months I bring my bike with me. There's a guy in Innisfil, Oshawa, and a couple from Toronto too. Was supposed to hook up with a couple of them for either Haugens in Port Perry, or Shoeless Joe's in Mt Albert, but it never happened.

Last summer I rode up to Parry Sound and camped for 5 days. Some nice roads up that way.
