But do Canadian cars have bonnets and boots, or hoods and trunks?

Not that I've got to have the last word, but we only make two kinds of cars in Canada...

"Japanese" cars that we mostly ship to the states, and "American" cars that we mostly ship to the states.  :duh:

We used to have a Canadian car, the Bricklin SV-1, I think it was called, but that's been a long while.

Most people who own cars in Canada would refer to hoods and trunks, but I've met lots who have bonnets and boots. We would also have the official french versions...  :trustme:

You guys.....What a pair of kidders !!!!
Actually EVERYBODY knows that the Oxford Dictionary is the OFFICIAL arbiter of stuff relating to the English language worldwide.
If the US wants to use something else, well, that's their right. In fact I think they had a war about "rights" if I recall correctly..... :stickpoke:
but since the rest of the world uses the Oxford version, there might be the odd confusion thing happening.
Very droll post, PM..... :bandit:
