Us too.  As long as we don't become popcicles on the way in.  :bigok:  Yes... well dress warm.

Note:  Changed the title to add the date, so edmonton bandit riders might see it in time.

Ah, it was a huge group ride. With 4000 bikes. It's a good cause and has its fun points, but to be brutally honest, being stuck in traffic for 45 minutes kinda sucks. And the toys on the freeway were avoided by our group, anyways

LOL! not really.  The Annual Santa's Anonymous Toy Run is sort of an anomaly.  It's the annual kick off to the toy gathering season for Santa's Anonymous that all of Edmonton and area's biker start off.  Sort of a tradition for a good cause.

It's the only real organized ride that we ever attend, and not every year.

You ride from one spot (Usually a mall parking lot) to the destination, with your toys on your bike (I carry them in the Givi case, so I don't lose them, most people strap them to their bikes somehow).  Along the way, even though the route isn't usually published, you will see people sitting in lawn chairs and wrapped in blankets (it was a cold day) watching, waving etc.   The kids are the most fun,.. they get really excited if you wave or honk at them.

When you get to the destination, this year was Hawrelak park, there's a big semi truck to fill with toys, or you can leave a monetary donation.  Either donation gets you admission to the grounds where there's food and a band, a ticket for numerous motorcycle related draws, and thousands of bikers to BS with, and whatnot.  Possibly the only time that Harley Riders and "Crotch Rocket" riders get together for the same sort of cause.    :stickpoke:

Possibly the most "fun" prize they give out every year is the Alberta Safety Council MotorCycle Rider's Course gift certificate.  it entitles the first rider that can come up to the stage with registration for a motorcycle in their name, and a driver's license missing a Class 6 (motorcycle) endorsement.

This year, there were a few toys to dodge on the freeway, but usually I don't see anything.  We missed them, like r_outsider mentioned,... I don't know if the toy survived unscathed though.

With the minor exception of Dita's temper tantrum when we got to the park, the ride was uneventful.  As with every year, there was the requisite construction zone planned into the route.   Last year, the city decided to paint lines on the road along part of the route,... on a Sunday.
