Man... you had to pick a weekend that's booked up.  I'll keep an eye on this and if anything changes I might meet up with you somewhere.  I don't camp and would probably stay in Yellville but could certainly hook-up for a day ride Saturday if I get to go at all.

Jay, I've got plenty of room in my RV.  Two private full size/queen beds and two singles +BBQ grill + Kitchen + bathroom.  Can probably save money.  But Yelleville motel is another option. First, I heard you're going.  Are you already booked in Yelleville?  How many rooms are open there?

You should check the Hub- man, that place is booked most of the weekends. He's got a good thing going.

Whoa... let me clarify.... when I said booked up I meant me!!  :rant2: :banghead:

I've already committed to some other stuff so I'm more of a "probably not" than "maybe".  Don't change a thing on my account.  If things fall thru and I head that way I'll give you a shout.

BTW... that last BanditFest (hurricane Rita?) was where I first met you and Craig....  5 years has gone by in a hurry.

I'll get back later..I'm home right now and the school blocks the site.  I confirmed that Hub is booked and the situation is further complicated by the fact that this is the weekend of Bikes, Blues, and Barbeque, a local legend that claims to be the third largest bike rallly in the nation after Daytona and Sturgis.  Anything remotely near Fayetteville will be booked solid.  This is not looking good.............

I can offer our house near Lavaca as a possible gathering site.  We have 3 beds to spare and a couple of very large air mattresses.  We are located approximately 40 minutes from the "pig trail" section of 23 and have ready access to the southern Ozark twisties.  We are about 2 hours from the Hub and another hour from Yellville, but there is an awful lot of stuff in the southern mountains, too, if you havent tried it.  I used to live near Yellville so I do remember those roads pretty well, too.  Let me know if this suggestion appeals to anybody.

Hello guys may I suggest this,,, I just spent 5 days here over the holidays and it was great 55$ night $65 Friday thru Sunday I thought I might so some fishing but put about 500 miles on the HD instead,,, they have a pretty good size RV park right across the street North and roads just like we had on the Pine Lodge trip 5 years ago. I got caught up riding behind a FJ and lost my kick stand bumper and part of my kick stand (Electra Glides DO not corner like the Bandit!!!) The food there was great 15 bucks for an very good prime rib,,, $9 for steak and eggs with a 1" thick 12oz steak for breakfast. They have 12 regular motel rooms 6 down and 6 up and a lodge loft that will sleep 8 or so... I am for sure going back there again...
Just a thought since I just came from there and very pleased.

First off, let me apologize for not posting sooner. I was busy earlier in the week and found myself without internet access the last three days. So far, it still looks like just John and I needing lodging and physics-teacher planning to meet up for a day ride? Now, let me throw another wrench in the spokes. My wife is having some medical problems right now and if she doesn't improve soon, I won't be able to make that weekend either. I will keep y'all updated as soon as I know anything. John, I know you had to jump through a few hoops to make this ride, so I'll let you decide how you want to proceed from here.

Assuming this ride is a go, I would prefer to stay somewhere more central so we could go a different direction each day. I also want to be able access Push Mtn. Rd (Hwy 341) and southern MO on the day rides. Jasper and Harrison are about as central and accessible as you can get to the many great roads in the Ozarks. Even Bull Shoals and Mountain Home would work great. Mountain View area offers a lot of good riding, but it would be difficult to access the roads west of Hwy 7 on a day loop. Likewise, Eureka Springs would be a great hub for a couple of day rides, but reaching 341 would make for a long day in the saddle. I found several RV/campgrounds in all of those areas. John, where is the Ozark Forest park/campground you mentioned? I couldn't find that one.

we'll cool our jets until we can firm things up.  Since the big rally is in Fayetteville & Harrison, best thing might the Carlton in Yellville?  Anyway, I hope your wife gets better soon.  That's the first priority.  We can always work a ride.

Best regards to you, the Mrs, and the family.

I think that I'm going to have bow out of this ride. :banghead: I don't see my wife's current issues getting resolved in time. John, I know you were looking forward to this and had to make some arrangements at home and at work to be able to attend and I'm sorry to stand you up like this. I owe you one.
