Clarks Fish Camp,Good Groceries! JAx FL
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Anyone in the Jacksonville, Florida, area, needs to check out
CLARKS FISH CAMP
It's in the Mandarin, area, south of I 295, and Old St Augustine Rd.
Not too far out of the way to stop for a meal if your running in/out of Florida on 95, and worth the detour!
This is a real, ratty looking, waterfront restaurant, with dock space for boats.
It is a lot larger than it looks! The parking lot was crowded whan we arrived about 5pm for dinner, but there was plenty of seating space.
Rustic inside....the menu features great, fresh, seafood, and local
'crawling critters'! (Gator, frogs....)
I had the 'budget' platter, ($13.95), which was a large piece of fish,
scallops, shrimp, clam strips, fries, coleslaw, hushpuppies, etc.
You can get it broiled, or breaded/fried.
All of the stuff on my plate was very fresh, and cooked well.
My brother had heard about the 'prime rib', and ordered the largest cut. It was 2 pounds or so.....and only impressive in it's mass!
(Skip it!)
They do serve beer, and you can dine on the deck, overlooking the creek.
I'll try to come up with a phone number, or website.
I'm going again!
