Just got back from the AMA doubleheader at road Altanta, which reminds me of why I like the GNF so much.
Less crowded, cheaper tickets, much more mobility around the infield and paddock, and MORE racing!
I saw quite a few Bandits at the track. Let's have a showing for te GNF!
You'll see more racing in a few days, more types of bikes....than probably anywhere else. Everything from 125 GP bikes, to the superbikes, piloted by intense amateurs!
The infield is much less crowded, and less controlled, and it's so nice to ride a bike to your favorite corners to watch the action.
The paddocks have less restriction, and the racers are more accessible.
Watch some young guns learn the ropes, and some names will be familiar in a few years when they break into the AMA.
This is the training ground for future US stars.
Weather is usually decent that time of year, and camping in the infield is cheap to free.
The North Georgia Mountains are 45 minutes away, as is TWO, which is another option for camping.
The antics and partying in the infield at night can be entertaining!
If you haven't seen LIVE motorcycle roadracing before, Road Atlanta and the GNF is the place to get your feet wet!
The bathroom facilities are kind of limited, and crowded. We talked about the possibility or reserving an inexpensive motel room 20 minutes away, for us to use for showers, and other bathroom 'duties' on saturday night. With 10 or so of us splitting the cost....it may be around $5 each.
If somebody doesn't want to camp, (Which isn't bad there, and the partying at night is cool...) we may be able to work a deal where somebody uses the room, and we pay a fee to use the facilities...reducing your cost.
