chain adjustment
« on: May 01, 2011, 07:19:13 PM »
adjusted the chain today on my 2k 1200s and there seems to be a big difference in chain slack at different points of the chain.  I understand about tight spots on a chain, but my slack is from 1/2 inch in some places to 1 1/2 inches in another.  Any imput is appreciated.

Sounds like a worn chain and/or sprockets.

One quick check...hold the slack out of the chain with your left foot, then pull the chain straight off the back of the sprocket. If you can pull the chain the equivelent of 1/4 to 1/2 the tooth, your chain and sprockets are worn out and you should consider replacing them.
