timing unit magnet cracked.

the little magnet onthe timing module cracked in half,

would that cause it to do anything different?

Hmmm... don't think I've heard this before. 
I would think as long as it's all still there and not gapped, it should. 
If its partially gone or the crack is wide enough, it could effect the signal to the ignition enough to effect timing.
