is it better to store a bike with a full tank or an empty tank or just not to worry about it. thanks

Fill er up as much as you can. That way no chance of moisture building up in the tank and rusting her out.

Make sure you use some sort of fuel stabilizer, though!

Yep, top the tank off,use Stabil,, and run the bike for a few minutes to get the stabilized fuel in the system before shutting it off.
(Or drain the fuel lines and carbs)

Remember the fuel stabilizer has it's own shelf life.... 2 years is what my last bottle of Stil-Bil read on it. I bought the economy size bottle and marked the purchase date - used the last bit of it exactly 2 years later. I probably won't buy the big bottle again but dayme... you get 4x the product for half again the cost of the small bottle.

Where is your bike being stored? If its garaged kept, you may not want to fill it all the way. That way, when you're ready to ride again, you can top off with fresh stuff. Stabil keeps the fuel from becoming gummy, but still cannot keep fuel "fresh". Combustibility (I think thats a word) will suffer in time so you'll have a tank of bad gas. However, if the bike is outside or in high humidity, fill it up and worry about bad gas later. The bandits only hold just over 5 gal. so not a big deal if you have to empty the tank. The gas in my in-law's motorhome went bad with a 70 gal. tank, that was a problem.
