Are the rear wheels 4.5 wide or 5.0 on the 2nd Gen B6?

Check the rim itself, usually on the outer lip. It should have the rim dimension stamped on it (ie: 4.50 x 17).

IIRC, the B6 uses a 4.5" rim.

Someone on here said they run a 170. Its got to be the max size for the rim and swing arm. I run a 160 but think the 150 is the best choice.

I think a 170 may be slightly deformed depending on what brand/model you buy. I've got a 160/60 17 on mine and it fits just right. Also, this is a very common size so any brand/model tire you want will come in this size.
