Bandit Not running/starting.
« on: June 21, 2010, 08:52:06 AM »
Hey people. I have what I believe to be a 89/90 B400 bandit. I bought it sep last year, just before summer. I rode it alot over summer and towards the end it got hard to start. Summer is very humid here. Anyway I ended up get another bike after I tried to tune it one day, which resulted in it not being able to start after being put back to factory spec for all the adjustments and jets. (went from 97.5 inners and 95 outters to 102.5) Long and short of it, I'm stuck.

I have rebuilt the carbs twice, fresh o-rings every time, plus greased them to ensure not air leaks. I've had the bodies soaking it thinners over night, to clean them out. I've had the emulsion tubes replaced, needles checked and sized, and the one time it did run, I gauge balanced the carbs. Turned it off, put it back together, go to start, and no go. :banghead:

I've put new plugs in, a new battery and have checked all lines for leaks and replaced them all anyway with new hoses. I have pulled the lid off to check the timing, and its all spot on.  :wtf:

I been though nearly every other post relating to this type of problem and have check them all out, with no success.

I'm about to :gatlin my bike if dont find a solution soon.

Any help would be awesome.

Well feeling kinda stupid over here.

Carbon fouled plugs was the problem. The plugs where arcing in the body of the plug not at the electrodes.  :duh: And they didn't even look that bad, but enough to cause a problem.

A quick clean and she fired right up. Tip for young players.

I'm on the road again

Now for a paint job
