Blue header, I got Ivanized.
« on: March 27, 2005, 11:02:48 PM »
I decided to go with the Ivan`s kit because so many members on this site seems happy with it. I just wanted a kit to work with my pipe. Since my pipes were turning blue. Well the kit was installed (not by me) and I can tell the difference. A riding buddy asked what did you do to your bike??? I said it was jetted yesterday. He said I can tell. Guys, I am not a fast rider.

On the way home I was on the freeway and doing 70mph. When I had the chance to pass I opened the throttle and looked at the odomiter. 105mph, just to pass!!!!!!!! WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am not tring to be the fastest, I just wanted my bike to run better.

Speedo error or not the bike runs much better. About 95% of the popping is gone. It warms up very fast. And excelleration is nicer. This is how this bike should have come from the factory.

They do it to meet emmission regulations (<----fact)

they figure that anybody that cares will correct it with aftermarket kits.  That is why you see so much benefit, we're almost expected to do this (<----opinion)

first real ride with the scorpion equiped.
sounds great and seems to run smoother.
some popping on deceleration, will adjust mixture screws soon, that usually stops the popping.

next time ivan has a jet kit sale  I'm there.  unless i just can't wait.[/img]

Has anyone here tried a Ivans kit on a 1G B-12????  I have the HS stage 1 kit in mine now and I get about 38 mpg (tops) and was wondering if the Ivans kit would do any better in this department.  I know lots of guys with Ivans kits in their 2G bikes and they like it but I am curious if anyone has tried it on a 1G B-12.

I have had the Ivan`s kit in for a couple weeks now. I lost some fuel milage, but gained power, lost warm-up time   , I was getting close to 48 mpg stock. Went on a 190 mile ride the other day. Stopped and filled the tank at mile 123, put 2.9 gal in the tank( took a little more  fuel than first fill up of the day). I figure I am getting 43 to 45 mpg. This is fine and dandy with me. I was on the throttle, high rev`s, high elevation and doing some great twisties. The throttle response is NOW. Not like the bike was when stock, slow throttle response. I am very happy with Ivan`s jet kit. Well worth the price.  :beers:

speedo erorrs

I wasn't going to mention this but since it has already been brought up, what is up with speedo error... I was told that they it got worse the faster you go. I would think that a "digital" speedometer would be pretty darn accurate. I could understand an analogue being off some but again, I would think that a digital would be acurate. Any body have any thoughts about this or maybe more info...Banditone1250s...
