looking at an exhaust system a little rough but was wondering when cleaned up what type of paint should be used??

This has been discussed in a bunch of threads in a few of the forums here. Try the search function and search all forums for "exhaust paint." You should find some good info.

Crappy tire sells "exhaust manifold paint". Go to the exhaust section. It comes in white, flat black & aluminium finish. It'll smoke a bit the first time you run the bike, after that your good to go...

I've used it on a dirt bike exhaust and it worked pretty well. I imagine it would work better on a street bike as your not getting it hit with rocks, covered in mud, scrubbing it a lot, etc.

Yeah. I use the crappy tire manifold paint yearly. I could probably get away with once every two years, but I'm neurotic. You'll need to scrub down that exhaust you bought removing all the surface rust prior to repainting. I've only used the flat black. It hides imperfections well.

It's a Canadian thing. "Crappy tire" is slang for "Canadian Tire". Which is a large Canadian automotive parts store chain. Sort of like Partsource or Autozone, but with more household junk and less car parts. And staff that don't know jack squat about car stuff.
