Fuel Vacuum Problem

Maybe gummed up floats or valves. Or a pinched off fuel line.


You say the fuel flows out the petcock when the line is off and its on Pri.??

And fuel will go into bowl when line is off the petcock and you put fuel into the line??

Put lines on and no fuel??

Do I have this straight? If so the fuel line must be pinching itself off when connected.

i tried to suck on the vacuum line when i had the petcock removed from the tank and it seemed blocked and there was no air flow. i will try it again while on the tank and see if i can hear the gas flow as you mentioned. i placed a new petcock, so if the gas flows, does it mean there's a problem with either the carbs or the valves or maybe both?

yes you got it correctly. I have checked all the lines, believe me and everything looks good. no cracks, no leaks, nothing. it seems like when i disconnect the fuel line and put it back on, it sucks air in and causes fuel the line to flow in but when i connect it, it does not suck the gas in. seems like a vacuum problem.
