Speedometer blues....
« on: April 11, 2006, 07:12:17 PM »
This really is nitpicking but the only thing I can complain about on my new bandit is the speedo in canada is only calibrated in km./hr.  I was brought up on imperial and can convert easily but i would just like to have the option of looking at miles per hour at the same time as km. per hour.

Second day out, I noticed I was just turning over 233 km. on the odometre and the time was 2:33.  I wanted to try for 233 km./hour on the speedo to make everything copacetic but I wussied out at 164!!

Now I'll never ever get that chance again until i buy another bike!

The problem with your 233 attempt is that it would take more than a km to get up to that speed (if you could even get there at all)

You can probably buy some US gauges on ebay, I don't see any reason they wouldn't work for you.

No, he can't... he's got a 3G 650 and there's no US 3G Bandit in either size... and they have a different instrument package. He'd have to go aftermarket... or keep an eye out on eBay-UK, they've got 3G bikes with MPH clocks, don't know if they're dual reading like the US ones would be though.
