Rubber Grease

Guys,

I just synced my carbs and those stupid end caps are always a pain to put on. So it hit me to use a rubber grease on them. I have a tube of Leslie's o ring conditioner for pools. It is to prevent rubber from getting dry and brittle and also from chemical attack. So I used a tooth pick and added some under the brass bob and as soon as the cap hit the rubber bingo it slid right on!!! I'm sure it would work with any rubber hose connector.  Let me know your opinion or if you use something else.

I need to find uses for this stuff because this tube will last 2 life times at least. Hey no dirty comments. :bandit:

Soon I am going to change my rubber end caps. Gonna plug them with golf tees. Seems like one end cap is dry rotting real quick.

I've had good success with this. When I had to put the carbs back on I just put a little around the outside. Normally I struggle with the carbs going onto the intake manifold and air box. With this the entire assembly just slipped on.  Dry rot sucks, don't think it work well for tires. :yikes:

Just make extenders. I got a few feet of clear 1/4 inch tubing and some brass couplers then just used the existing rubber caps on the end of the brass couplers. Works awsome. Got all the stuff at RONA for around $6 including the brass couplers. Rubber caps were already provided by Suzuki. If you want it to get fancier and probably more resiliant just get some extra vaccuum line, or if you getting rid of that shitty PAIR system you should have enough left over for the 3 carbs that can use them. Really helps when you fooling around with jetting and have to sync a few times to get it perfect.
2005 Bandit 1200, Modified Holeshot Stage 1 with 17.5 pilots 2.75 turns out, and 110 mains 5 shims. Muzzy Slip on w/mid-pipe, stock filter. 1.5" hole in the airbox lid.
