Has anyone tried Gen-Mar risers on their 1200 bandit??

Bought the Gen-Mars with the extended brake line and installed them. Not quite enough rise to suit me so I added a 1" spacer underneath them and replaced the through bolt with a longer one. Now the height is right for me and the long distance touring I bought the bike for.

When I added the 1" spacer I had to reroute the throttle and choke cables to behind the triple tree and reposition the clutch hose a bit more forward -- had to take the gas tank off and loosen a clamp under there and cut a portion of the rubber spacer to allow the forward movement. Now all is fine.

The total change is about 2" up and 1 and 3/8 " back from stock.

I was also considering the V-Strom 650 handlebars, but at another 4" in width the electrical wires would not reach, so I decided on the Gen-Mars.

2G bike owners need to be aware that on some bikes, with Gen-mars installed, the trottle cables will touch the tank at full lock. I had them and then sold mine because of this. Changing the angle of my bars did not fix the problem to my personal satsifaction.

Holeshot risers, used by themselves, is another alternative that works. Or you can do it yourself for cheaper, if you have the means to make the spacers yourself.
