Name this part!
« on: March 20, 2005, 10:31:52 PM »
Hello, I am parting out a 1981 Honda CB 750F and I really don't know what to call these.  As most of you know, properly describing a part on ebay makes all the difference.  Anyway, I've run out of bandit questions for everyone so I thought I would bother banditalley with this!  :thanks:

I'd have to disagree... rearsets usually imply something aftermarket, as in setting the pegs further rearward than they came stock. Since these look like they have factory info stickers, that kinda rules that out. (plus they look too heavy for rearsets.)

They look more like footpeg brackets. Not being that familiar with what the parts look like for the 81 CB750F, I couldn't say if they were the rider's set or the passenger's though.

Are you sure you have the right bike?  I have an '81 CB750K and these don't look like anything on my bike.  I don't know how much difference there is.  The closes match I can tell is that they are passenger foot peg brackets.   My passenger pegs are mounted to a little wing coming out of the frame itself.

It is a 750 "F"  not "K" and yes, it is correct, it's the bike I have pictured down there ,and the make and model is clearly indicated on the VIN plate.  It's no big deal though, I'll just list it as a rear set plate or something.  In my opinion it's not really the rear set, that makes it sound like it contains the brake linkage and stuff.  But again, it's no big deal, just curious.

That pic really helps!  :bigok:

I'd just call it the left & right footpeg bracket, period.

Calling it a rear set would only confuse people.

Now that you mention it, I have a need for a starter solenoid if you still have it.  jfudo@palucciengineering.com
