New Front Blinkers for 2005 B12
« on: August 07, 2006, 11:05:46 AM »
Looking to replace the stock front blinkers to the Mini cat eyes from Holeshot.  Previous owner had replaced rear blinkers with mini cat eyes and would like them to match.  Saw another Bandit this weekend at a rally with the front ones, but they were mounted "inside" the fairing hole.  Just looked ok, but would prefer a more finished look (i.e. cover the hole).  Checked out Holeshot's website and there is a new front blinker set talking about "filling / covering the hole", but the picture is hard to see what it looks like.  Of course Holeshot is closed and on vacation this week, so I cannot call and talk with them  Anyone have these or any other recommendations?

I went with the Large LP  smooth cat eyes but be prepared to do a little cutting on the inside of the fairing!

Look on JUSTBANDITS.COM. They have a set of covers to fix the exact problem you are talking about.

I also have the same Lp smooth cateyes but it seems like no one can see them to me at least.

You might just replace them with a similar light if yiou like the look, just go with an LED. They are much brighter.

I just happen to have the Holeshot blinker kit for the front and haven't installed it yet.  I'll take a look in the package and see if there's a plastic blank that's meant to fill the hole.  If so, I'll try to post a pic of what it looks like.

Here's a photo of the blinkers and the blanks.  They're made of metal.

Just one thing though. I put the blanks up to the holes in the fairing and they don't conceal them.  I guess they mount on the inside of the fairing and act as a mounting bracket for the turn signal.  If you'd like, I can hold the bracket up to the existing turn-signal and take a pic so you can get an idea of its size.  Let me know.

When I had my '02 Bandit, I put the Holeshot mini-cateye blinkers on it. I put the metal plate on the outside behind the blinker stalk. It didn't fill the hole in the fairing completely, but I didn't think it looked too bad.

Just to close this out, I found on e-bay "The Suzuki Shop" and "Lucky Bike" when I typed in Suzuki Bandit 1200.  Bought the "Cat Eye" Blinkers from the Suzuki Shop for 14.95 plus shipping.  From Lucky Bike I got the "Adapters" or fillers for covering the rubber and fairing opening (2 sets - 1 Black plastic which I used and 1 Carbon set - extra for now) for 9.00 plus shipping.  Total was $34. vs. $50. (including shipping) for the lights and adapter set (metal) complete from Holeshot.  The lights are the same and match the rear Cat Eyes on the bike.  Looks good.  I needed to "adapt" / cut and splce the plastic connector piece from the stock blinkers in order to snap into the electric cable connection side.  I also understand what you meant about the metal backing plates, but it had 2 holes in them (only 1 needed) and did not cover the entire fairing opening.  I still used them as the inside backing plates for stability.

The only thing was 1 of the bulbs was bad and the Suzuki Shop wanted me to mail it back before they would send a new bulb.  Too much trouble.  I did have difficulty finding the mini 12V 23 Watt bulb at local bike shops, but eventually found 1.  Thanks for everyones input.
