Same thing happened to me when I upgraded my rear shock... downright scary how far over the bike was leaning on the side stand.
I decided to try a temporary fix and glued a piece of 3/4" oak on the bottom of the side stand, which was shaped as the footprint of the stand. A little epoxy coating and some gloss black paint and you never knew it wasn't original.
It did pop off (epoxied) and I re-attached it with Gorilla Glue and haven't had any more issues. In fact - the wood was starting to wear so I added a 1/8th steel plate to the bottom of that (Gorilla Glue again), re-painted and it works so good my temporary fix just might be permanent.
Ideally, a machined titanium block bolted to the bottom would be very trick but I had to use what I had available.
