Well folks, it seems that the biggest culprit  for making the noise/rattle after all said and done was...

NOT the fairing so much...(although nice and tight now!)
NOT the engine AT ALL...(purrs like a kitten..or maybe TIGER!)
NOT the windshield really at all (well maybe a wee bit)
NOT...well... yes, it was the headlight some BUT THERE WAS ANOTHER NOISE TOO!

NOOOOOOOO!

Have a guess?

Here it comes!...

It was a Metric socket that had fallen out of my kit one day and had caught at the bottom inside/upside of the headers...rattling about and doing all sorts of "VIBE" dances, making all sorts of noises OVER BUMPS! :duh: OMG!

Realistically, the back of the headlight was a little loose, but by itself, probably wouldnt of compounded my frustration level enough to do anything!

I just found my headlight was loose and vibrating as well.

Is your bike a 2nd Gen?

LOL! I did exactly the same thing to the washer yesterday.  I lost my 12mm socket into the abyss.  Worse still, the washer STILL dances across the floor.  And pees on the floor.  *sigh*

Glad you found it though!  Now you can ride in peace.

My 1G B12 had a rattle from the black plastic piece behind the windshield. I took it apart and put some foam between the mounting points and it didn't help. Last week I put in new spark plugs, and the noise has disappeared.
