Yoshimura Misc. Parts?

Lost one of the springs that holds the midpipe and can together.  Anybody have an idea where to get a replacement?

Matt,

Master of the obvious here...only things I can think of are is to see if your dealer can order you one, poke around on the Yosh website and see if there is anywhere you can drop a line to asking for help, hit the salvage yards, check hardware stores to see if there is something else you can use with a little modification (without being plated it will probably be ugly in short order though), and post this same thing in the "parts wanted" section here. Maybe someone dropped their bike on the exhaust side and has spare hdwr.

How in the world did you come up missing one?

Good luck!

I went to a dirt bike store and got 2 springs for 4.95. they are made by moose I think. Measure your old one and get the closest one that matches. I think it's a 22mm.

I'll check on those.  I guess I can measure the distance between the loops on the pipe and can, and then find a slightly shorter spring.  Of course, it needs to be plated to avoid rusting.

I can't imagine how that freakin' thing fell off in the first place.  I got back from the Gap and it was gone.  I doubt somebody would have the nads to snatch it off of there whilst I was at the grocery store.

I wired it up with some SS wire for the time being.

Rather than measure the didtance between the loops, remove one of the springs you still have and measure it.

Top spring is (or was) longer than the bottom spring.

The part numbers for yoshi springs are short spring,RACE-SPS.Long spring,RACE-SPL.Hopes this helps. They are avalible from any good bike shop, have to order them though.Look heaps good with stamped rubber sleeves over springs.Always safety wire with SS wire so as not to loose them.Hope this helps.
