You can specify weight, but it's fairly self explanitory that you'd use 20/50, 10/40, or 15/40. If you select Some other mass market brand, let us know!
My motto is: Just say no to motorcycle specific oil, unless you'd rather say yes, in which case, do so by all means.

I use...
I've used Quaker State 4x4 Semi-Synth 15/40 (didn't seem to do anything better than dino juice as far as I could tell) and Chevron Delo 400 (a diesel/HD service oil similar to Rotella). My bike has had Castrol GTX 10-40 for the last 2 or 3 changes. I'll be trying GTX 20-50 on this next change (any day now).
M/C specific oil is just a way to lighten your wallet faster.

I've just switched to amsoil 15w40 synthetic diesel oil.
It runs about $15 a gallon and should protect well.

I thought it was not recommended for wet clutches.. to use synthetic

They aren't generally recommended but there are one or two that have been formulated to work with a wet clutch.It's not so much the synthetic aspect of the oil,it's the newer friction modifiers in the later car oils that supposedly play havoc with the clutch.It's my feeling that unless you're absurdly hard on the clutch the premature wear that the newer formulations could cause would be in the long term only.IE shortening the life or the clutch,but how much shorter who knows.There are a lot guys that use car oils and seem the be just fine.It's not whether it's synthetic or dino but whether it's auto or bike oil.Ther's a lot of opinion and debate on this subject and I don't mean to restart it here.Check out some of the oil threads on the Max-Zuki BBS.

I was initially using Castrol GTX, out of nostalgic purposes.....
Recently switched to Actevo. and a shop put in Golden Spectro Semi Syn
last time......
While 'oil brand fickle', I do change the oil every 2000 miles, or less.

Dino or synthetic, you should be alright if your running 10w40 or heavier oil. Any oil that has an energy saver label, including most of the lighter oils will cause your clutch to slip. There are people running synthetic oil
with seriously modded bikes without any slippage. I like the idea of increased protection from synthetics but dislike the prices. The amsoil synth diesel is cheaper than most dino motorcycle oils so I'm giving it a try. Ultimately you need to try an oil and see if it works. To get a myriad of opinions go to the 'search' on this site and on Maximum-Suzuki and enter "synthetic and oil."

I changed oil about 300 miles ago and put in car-spec Mobile-1 (15-50). Had extra from doing the cars and figured, why not?
No problem with clutch slippage (I tried), and the motor runs smoother than it ever did on Golden Spectro 10-40, which is what I've used for the last 10k miles.
$4.50 a quart, though
I use this stuff in my car and even my lawnmower.
I know there are plenty of people out there who'll tell me it's a waste of money, but as the saying goes "life is too short to drink cheap beer". I treat my motors the same, and like I said, it runs smoother.
Less vibes around 4k etc.

I use Pennsoil 20-50 motorcycle oil becuase that is what my dad insists on buying so i get it for free. If i had to buy oil I would use Castrol GTX. I've used that in my jeep and my dodge and have had no problems (just wrecked my jeep and sold my dodge a while back.)
