350 Jawa
« on: August 17, 2005, 07:26:32 AM »
I found a 350 Jawa I can have if I want it. Its all in boxes, and its free.I was told to just come and get it. I thought it might be a good winter project. I'm not sure of the yrear, must be late 60sor early 70s. Restore it,and maybe sell it at Mid ohio vintage days. Has anyone on the board ever had one? I know a local guy that has parts,he used to sell Jawa and CZ. I need to fix 2nd gear, and rechrome the fenders. The owner used to give me a ride home on it when I was about 14.

I had a CZ 125 (1992 model, 2t single cyl), which I later bored out to 160cc using a 175 kit. Had some problems early on but turned out to be a surprisingly reliable bike! If its free I'd definitely take it, Jawas and CZs are easy to work on and pull nicely from the traffic lights lol... don't expect much over 70mph though

Cool, an iron curtain bike!  I have a Polish co-worker who has owned many "Yavas" and tells me his storys of riding all over E. Europe.  With the internet and ebay you should be able to find all the parts you need.

A guy in my neighborhood sold Jawas and CZs out of his garage...in the late 60's, and early 70's.

The infamous winter project. I've had a few of those. Free too! How can you go wrong? It may only cost you a couple grand! I don't know anything about CZ. If you have the time and motivation, it could be fun. Good luck.
