After 16 years in the 500/Motogp class Alex Barros can't get a ride, so he's going to be moving to Superbike, I'm not sure what he's going to be riding.  Ruben Xaus has also quit Motogp and is going back to superbike riding a Ducati I believe.

Troy Bayliss has signed with Ducati (SBK Factory Team) for 2005.

I wonder what Max Biaggi will be doing in 2006?????

With all this 'talent' moving to SBK it should be an interesting year...

I think it would be awesome to see rossi go superbike and ride against Mladin.

I think Rossi is more likely to go F1 racing or Rallying than SBK.....

And yet another Motogp/250/125 rider jumps to WSBK - Robero Rolfo couldn't get a ride either.

Jeez the way it's going there's not going to be many left.   The racing is going to pretty pointless, you'll have Rossi winning most races, or at least on the podium, and with the diminishing field tail enders will pick up a point just for finishing.

I was just reading in Road Racer X magazine that Max has had a falling out with Honda because he bad-mouthed his bike several times during post-race interviews. Despite his good connections with the Camel folks,  Honda pretty much says he's NOT going to ride one of thier bikes. With other team slots pretty much full, looks like Max has forced himself into retirement.

I have the good word on that.
It aint gonna happen, he will be back to take the AMA title once again.
You guys board with this, then stop suzuki USA paying him more than what he would get riding world SBK.

Its all down to the dollars, and can you blame him. :duh:

It's not the first time Max has pissed of his employer.  He did it in 250's and he did it after his first year in 500's.  It will be a shame not to see the Roman Emperor racing in 2006....maybe he'll consol himself by buying a Soccer team.

Yes it is a shame really, just after he has finished tripping over his ego, I think he has matured into a better racer than ever. Even he admitted that he even enjoyed racing last year. Now that has got to be a good thing, for a racing career, its a shame he aint riding this year, cause I reckon he and Loris on the Ducati's would have made a great all Italian race team.

True,very true.

I don't think Sete's going to do a lot on the Ducati.  I just checked the MotoGP site and the latest poll  "Can Gibernau make a comeback with Ducati in 2006?" the result so far is 14806 yes and 24753 no.  So I'm not alone.

I don't think Sete can do it either. And I don't think Max can either, even if he had a good bike. I think Melandri has the best shot at Vale and Nicky was doing a lot better during the last half of the season. I think the US Round was just the boost he needed, even if Rossi did give it to him when he was trying to give it to Colin.

Really, I think it comes down to which team can develop the best overall package during the off season.  The total package isn't just the bike, but the rider, the mechanics, the management even the guy/girl who makes the coffee.

Now, over the last decade or so one Jeremy Burgess has been able to combine all these elements into a winning team, I see no reason why he won't do it again, and unless Rossi does something stupid and breaks himself I can't really see anyone beating him for the championship, which to be honest I find quite boring.

Sito Pons has now withdrawn his team from the 2006 MotoGp season.....

So once again the Motogp field shrinks - whose next?????

Well, Superbikes seem to be attracting more top names....

Max Biaggi is going to Superbikes -

Quote from motogp.com

With regards to the possibility of entering the world of Superbikes, Biaggi spoke highly of the series. “I have always appreciated this category, I also have a few friends in there and they have all my respect. So I am considering this opportunity as a very good one. The difficulties grow as time passes though, in light of the fact that since December 15th we have still been trying to reach an agreement with Kawasaki”

I've got a feeling that Sete is going to do a lot better this season, crap tires or not.   The guy is certainly fast, just needs to stay on the track!

I don't think it's his tyres that will be the problem.  The fact the Rossi has him completely physched out is going to be his biggest hurdle.  He cracks under the slightest pressure and make stupid mistakes - he even started doing a Biaggi and blaming the bike, the team, the coffee boy, anyone but himself.

Don't get me wrong I agree, he is fast and he's certainly talanted, but I while Rossi is there he's f%^&ed.
