B King - new bandit?
« on: February 09, 2007, 10:03:07 PM »
I picked up a copy of Road Bike today and on page 16 there is a very short description of a new Suzuki and an interesting, all be it small, picture of a bike that

"stole the Cologne show with the B-King, a Hayabusa motored super standard.  First introduced at the tokyo motor show in much more radical supercharged from. The tamer production version... will be in the American Suzuki 2008 model lineup."

Is this the new Bandit's newer big brother? or will it replace the 07 version?   Or perhaps an enlargment of the Hayabusa line?  I think I would like a little more information.

I think that it will be a new bike in the line-up and they will keep the bandit.

Here are a few links to previous conversations

Definitely considering this as a my first bought new bike after it withstands the first few years to work out bugs.

I am really excited about this bike.

I agree with ant_129... I think the the B-King will not replace the Bandit, especially since it's little brother, the GSR600 (not available in the US) has not replaced the 650 Bandit. 2007 is the final year for the GSX1400 (never available in the US), so you might say the B-King will be replacing that.

Suzuki UK has a special site dedicated to the B-King. It's supposed to be available in August of this year as an early release '08 model - at least in the UK.

I agree. There already is a replacement for the Bandit in '07... it's called the Bandit 1250.

The B-King looks like it's going to be an awesome bike, once you get used to the looks. If it was "edgey" they were going for, I think they got it.

One major consideration, for me anyway, is price. If I could afford to spend $15K, I'd probably go for the new Concours instead. But I can't, and since my budget keeps me at $8K, it's a simple choice... it's the '07 1250 hands down.

A big part of the Bandit's appeal has always been that it's a lot of motorcycle for not a lot of money, and the '07 model keeps that promise.

But if I ever hit the lotto, a B-King would definitely be sitting in my barn... alongside at least a dozen other motorcycles...  :bigok:

Well one thing for sure they picked a catchy name that reminds you of a popular burger and since it resembles an appliance, having it displayed in the favorite corner inside your home, it may go unnoticed.

Yes, the B-king is the 2007 version of the 1996 Bandit1200.............
It is the badass bike that the bandit was when it was launched.

No, it is not because the bandit will be continued as a sports-tourer. And the longer the bandit will live , the more it will become a tourer. (just like its owners..)
Life starts at (2)40.....

Thanks for the information.  I like it.
I reminds me of the Bennelli TNT, and also the new Z1000 that Kawasaki has brought out.

Wayyyyyyy too uptown for my tastes.....
Looks like some kinda thing Mad Max (2008 version) would ride, IMO. To each his own, I suppose....

I was thinking more RoboCop than MadMax. I think I saw the same turn signal assembly on the front of a Grand Vitara! I bet it'll kick but though.
