B12S sticker removal
« on: July 01, 2006, 05:02:19 PM »
I did a search on this topic, but came up empty.

Has anyone removed the "Bandit 1200S" sticker from their fairing?  It looks like it would just peel off, but I didn't want to get part of it off and have it look like hell.

Thanks,
  Dave

You can use a hair dryer. Don`t get the paint too hot. Some use WD40 to get rid of the glue after the sticker is removed.

If the bike's color has faded at all from exposure to the elements, the paint will be darker under the stickers. It's generally best to take them off when its new.

rub a little oil (vegetable or otherwise) on it and let it sit overnight.  It'll come right off.

I ended up using "GooGone," available from Ace Hardware.  Cause ZERO damage to the plastic and took 5 minutes to remove each sticker.

You Got lucky with the GooGone, I tried to take a sticker off of a wind screen once with some and made one big mess.

I agree... Goo Gone can simply melt plastic like nobody's business.  Stay away from that stuff!
