Why not just have a llink at the bottom of your post to your myspace page.  Heck, I personally would be content if people just added their location in their profile.  People would be amazed on how many people are actually just around the corner from them.

Some of the best ideas are the simplest ones.

I've just added my location - anybody near me?

I've been on facebook for a couple of months now and your right it is more of a personal web space. It is cool to find old friends that you haven't seen since high school and see what they are up to. What is amazing though, I guess facebook has actually been around since '04, I just read an article about the creator on CNN.com a few days ago.

Facebook definitely isn't a replacement for this forum, but there is a bandit group already. I've actually answered somebodys question by suggesting they come here to check. This is afterall where the Bandit gurus seem to hang around.

I've been on a few other boards that had a sticky for a location check. Granted it takes a lot of work at first to gather everybody's info, but it's a quick reference thing.

Other solution would be to use something like Frappr. You can create a group then everybody goes in and basically puts there "pin" on the map. Getting it setup doesn't take long, and then it's more a matter of the members going in and indicating where they're from: http://www.frappr.com/

Says the guy that rearranged the site.  :stickpoke:

I think it was one of the links that Pete had in the footer of the page.

Oh MAN!  I'm the furthest north on that map,... including overseas.

Yup, that's where it was - and still is, if you  go there.

I'm sure there's a thread in here somewhere that discusses it, but I'm too lazy to go search for it.

Perhaps our new site owner can install it on the current board, too?  :stickpoke:

Gotcha covered - Frapper link

Sure,.. I'll put it on the to do list.

Here's the thing though, Pete would have set that up, so he'll have the password to do any mods to it.  I don't want to lose any of the existing stuff, so I'll see if I can touch base with Pete on it, and get him to give me the info for it.

Facebook? Damn, now I've people from everywhere hounding me to be on that list. And there's only two people from high school that I have any interest in talking to, 17 years after I left.

I've added my name and a photo of my bike to the map.

just got around to adding myself to frappr, what a cool idea that is! Looks like I'm a decent road trip away from everyone else.
Been on the facebook group for months now, it's got it's place in the world. Sadly some people seem to think it IS the world.
