Did anyone see the new show "Superbikes" on Speed last nite?

They lots of trick performance & naked bikes in the bay area.

One bike was a Bandit tricked out. Another was an oil cooled GSX-R 1100, that had like 190 HP!

was cool.

Unfortunately I watched it and thats 30 minutes of my life I'll never get back.

Its too bad they had to replace a show like Two Wheel Tuesday, a show that put a positive light on motorcycling, with "Squid Central" crap like that

Is two Tuesday gone?  I really liked Greg's garage, scanned thru the listings Tuesday and didn't see it anywhere.

Ya, that show does nothing for me.  They are obviously trying to attrack a youthful following, but to me, it only furthers the stereo type of "zoom-splats" and "crotch rockets".  And does little to represent the majority of riders who like performance and function over chrome and fringes.

Don't get me wrong I love to beat the crap out of my friends after going for a ride, but I just couldn't get the images of Torque or Fast And the Furious out of my head while watching that show.

I'm still waiting for another show like "A Bike Is Born" or similar program that shows you step by step how to install components on a bike, much like the many Truck or "Shade Tree Mechanic" shows Speed currently airs.

I know I'll end up watching Superbike, if nothing else for the laugh factor.  With all the "adventure" riders posting on boards such as advrider.com you'd think they could make a cool show on that stuff alone!

Two Wheel Tuesday was the show that got me into wathching motorcycle racing and supercross.  I know for a fact that with out it I would never had gotten to know the moto gp guys.  That was when the show was on for an hour the first few years and the racing was a much bigger part of the show.  Now to get a fix for some missed racing highlights I have to sit through Dave's talk about all of the four wheel racing.

well geeesss...

I liked the show!

miss & moan, BUT:

This was the first TV show that ever featured a Bandit!

The Bandit and oil-cooled GSX-R were shown the most.  that's bad?????  I guess if you had no interest for performance mods on naked bikes you'd really hate this show.

And of course, we have no members here that have ever done wheelies or gotten a ticket?

I miss Two Wheel Tuesday, but I still like this one.  At least there were no choppers.

My issue is not with the show as much as it is saying they are showing "the sportbike culture". My sportbike culture is NOT represented by a bunch of guys doing wheelies and going fast in a straight line.  I would buy a V-Max for that. :duh:

I participated in the Neilson Ratings this year and I ripped the Speed Channel for ruining Two Wheel Tuesday. I also ripped them for too much Nascar crap and not enough MOTO GP.

I managed to watch it as I was packing for France. It was nice to see the Bandit get screen time, but I don't like the angle the show takes... and probably will not watch it again (real easy to miss here in FR), but if bad a$$ images of HD/choppers sell, this sort of publicity should help launch the Streetfighters as the new bad a$$ machine... and maybe one of those streetfighter builders will get his own show, too.

Yeah, Dave got flamed for being a "sell-out" to NASCAR. He even replied to that flame on the air, so I guess the accusation hit home.  Soon after, Greg White came on and they left Dave alone.
