Seeking Absolution
« on: July 06, 2005, 02:50:46 AM »
:soapbox:
Forgive me bretheren for I have sinned.
It has been two weeks since my last Bandit ride.

No, please, stick around.  I have a vital life lesson to share.

:stop:  :stop: Don't ride with Hogs! :stop:  :stop:
Lie down with Hogs, rise up with fleas!  Put your Suzuki pearl before swine and someone is likely to burp.

I made the mistake of riding a whole 70 miles for a good cause two weekends ago.  They all thought it was too long a ride, while in fact it was merely too slow a ride.  250-300 bikes and you could count the Euro-Trash on one hand, the Rice-Rockets on the other and still have thumbs left to count the Brit bikes.

So how does the universe pay me back for my good deed? With a big fat nail through my beautiful, less than 1000 mile old Metz M-1 rear tire. :crybaby:  $150 to the stealership for new rubber :banghead: .  No weekend ride for you young Bandito!  Fortunately my buddy doesn't ride his BMW R1150RT as much as it deserves so he tossed me the keys.  Good thing I'm broke or my wife would have me sleeping in the garage with my new Beemer. :stickpoke:

Who would have thought that that pudgy bastard would prove to be so flexible in the tight twisties.  Those nice German engineers were even sweet enough to install a lean angle indicator (the center stand makes nice scrappy noises when you turn left fast enough) :monkeymoon:

Hopefully my Karmic debt is repaid and my Chi is no longer out of whack 'cause this penanace stuff sucks.

Ride safe y'all and check your tires every time you leave even the smallest collection of Hogs.  I'm not saying they're bad, I'm just saying that they are bad JuJu

Sounds typical of the Hardley crowd. I've sometimes ridden 70 or more miles just to get to the start of a ride
