I have a friend who had about a solid 20k miles on a 600 Bandit, and he was pretty proficient at clutching up nice first gear wheelies.

My 1200 appears to be the easiest bike I've ever had to wheely, including my ex-Busa.

1st gear, any speed, hold throttle stead for 1 mississippi, then whack it open... and the front end comes up saweeeeeeeet.

And your weight... seems the heavier you get, the easier it is to loft the front end - at least on the Bandits with upright ergos.

I finally got my b12 to wheelie for the first time.  It was unexpected too, scared the Pi** out of me.

With the stock swingarm, I have a 4 in. extended arm also, mine is way wheelie prong. With 15/46 sprockets, it will come up in 3rd gear when accelerating at wide open throttle, with the least little bump. That is at 100 + mph, and that will make you pucker :duh:

I've found pretty much hold the bike in 1st gear at about any throttle position for 1 mississippi, then give it full throttle and hold.

Insto-wheely.

(My bike has slip on and stage 1 installed.)

Yeah, a B12 even in stock form wheelies real easy and smooth in 1st.  I guess the part most have trouble with is knowing what to expect, getting used to it, being smooth and in control, and never putting yourself in a "oh sh_t situation on one wheel.  And most importantly; wheelies aren't worth a skinless ass or a wadded nice bike. They're really just a novelty at the end of the day...

I'll 2nd that.....What I really hate is the nice WHIP you get when the wheel comes back down (i have a tendancy to lean in a wheelie) .

Haha damn right. Have to knacker the clutch to get anything from the front on the 250.

ZX-6R though... had a little wheelie coming out of a roundabout the other day. Wasn't expecting it at all, but was surprisingly easy to control

curiousmike, I've wondered how much faster is the Busa compared to the Bandit 1200.  Not in numbers, but in thrill factor.  I've thought about buying one, but didn't want to get it and find that although it's faster, it's not AMAZINGLY faster.

Oh, it's FASTER Chuck !!  Oh boy is it !, especially with a jet kit...
2nd gear 100mph power wheelies kind of FAST....

Cramped ergos though, pegs are too high for my taste...

I wouldn't want one, too fast for the street for me and I bet insurance is just NUTS!  unless you have a extreme power fetish and money to burn...  I prefer a good sport tourer all around scoot..

-just throwing in .02...  :beers:  :bigok:

How do you put a jet kit in a fuel injected bike?

Why not?  I have an electron demodulator on mine.  700bhp at the rear wheel.  Mileage is really off though..

My brother has a TL 1000s and it is easier to wheelie than my bandit, but I can only ride it for about 20 minutes without percocet. When I bought my bandit I took it for a test ride and made the mistake of whacking it in first gear, I almost flipped it right over, and I ride a KX500 in the dirt so I should be used to that kind of acceleration! It is my favorite attribute of my Bandit, now that I know what to expect! I love it when your on it hard in third and you hit a ripple in the road and the front end just floats up, nothing beats a 100 mph uni-cycle
