Winter is over
« on: August 26, 2007, 03:25:29 AM »
The cherry blossoms are in full bloom, the yellow blooms of our native wattle, line the byways and back highways, and the sweet smell of honey in the air,  makes you feel glad to be alive, and of course out riding.

Ye gods its good for the soul.
And I'm a happy man again.

But on a sour note, excuse the pun, my ipod crashed. :bomb:

Spring for you......
But, 80 miles from the Rockies, 3500' ASL and latitude ~52 deg North we are having an early Fall right now. Have I ever mentioned I hate cold weather ???
It's rained on and off (mostly on) all day today and the temp never got above ~10 deg C (50F)......and this is my only day off during the whole week.
I gotta move to Phoenix or Oz or ANY place where it's warm (mostly) all year 'round......oh....and it's gotta have twisty roads.
But honestly, Mick, I'm glad your riding season is starting off nicely....honestly I am.
Now if I could just convince the missus that Oz is a great place to move to......

If the Wattle is blooming, then it's time to go Snapper fishing

The weather here on the weekend was just magic.  I managed to sneek in a little ride (about 100km) on 'The Treasurers' m750 - well she did say to make sure I start it while she's away.

'The Eldest' rode up to Tumut on Sunday, for soccer.  That was his first decent ride out of town.  He said that the KLR was great.  Just a few mods he wants to make

Don't tempt me, Sven.....
however I see Germantown is kind of an ex-urb of Memphis which is a leetle too close to a city for this boy.
CowTown has 1MM+ people and I think I'd like to go back to my roots in a much smaller place about 2 or 3 hours away from a metro-type environment....although all that music in Memphis is certainly a draw. Plus I'm sure that there's plenty of great riding roads around there or within a couple of hours.
As your offer says, though, it'd be temporary, and I do thank you for the offer.
I don't think I'd ever convince SWMBO to move to a place with those temps AND that humidity. My wife's "comfort zone" is ONLY between 68F and 72F with about 80% RH. She'd have to be air conditioned year 'round and that could be a real drain on a retiree's wallet.

And I'd be glad to have sent you lots of gray skies and rain.

Though yesterday and today were beauties... of course, that's Monday & Tuesday.
As the old Seattle joke goes:
What do you call it when you have a sunny day after two straight days of pouring rain?
Monday.  :boohoo:
