Well got to sit on a few of the new rides today. Loved the New Bandit (You can see that thread)

I jumped on the new Kawi C-14. I hated everything about this bike. I thought it looked like $%#@ and for a state of the art Sport Tourer, found it cramped and just did not like the feel of it. If you buy one and make your wife ride on the back, she will hate you more.

This Bike would not ever make my "would like list". I would place it at the bottom of the list of Sport Touring Bikes.

1) FJR
2) Sprint ST
3) MG Norge
4) Honda ST 1300
5) C-14

Well those are my ratings, so there!

By the way, I have loved the MG Norge photo's, but when I sat on this bike it sort of smelled of cruiser. It's ok, but just ok.

I didn't get a photo.

Now here was a interesting little thing Yamaha did. The photo below is a FZ-1 equiped with official Yamaha accesories, which are all available (In Canada) at least, out of Yamaha's accesory catalogue. There is even a top case you can add.

The Bad news is, the total cost with top case is $16,000.00 which is $200.00 short of what I paid for a new 2006 FJR still in the crate.

I agree with you on the C14....I thought it looked cheap and thrown together...wasn't at all impressed.

The Norge would be #1 on my list if I was looking for a sport/TOUR, the Sprint ST if I was looking for a SPORT/tour. That little button on the left hand side of the fairing on the Norge was really cool...you know the one, had ABS on it   What a novel idea to be able to turn ABS off.

And how about the indoor motard championship...what a freakin' blast that was to watch!!

Got lots of swag including an extra year of warranty for my B12 and an AB Cycle tank guard...a few lanyards...lots of contacts for cool stuff. Yep I spent 5 hours there and enjoyed myself immensely

Hey James:

Sorry I was not able to meet up with you there.

I enjoyed myself also, and thankfully I didn't find anything I wanted more than the FJR I have on layaway.

We went yesterday.  We both enjoyed it, but I think the biggest novelty , for me anyway, was finding a couple of bikes, dirt and full sized street bikes that I could flat foot it on!

Though I don't currently see myself getting rid of the 919, the Ninja 650R was short enough that with my boots on, I would have flat footed it.  As it was, my heels were only about a 1/2" off the ground in running shoes.

The R6 was gargantuan!  I couldn't even get both feet on the ground!

The KTM 105SX is quite possibly the first KTM I've ever sat on AND had my feet flat on the ground!   (Not counting the 50s and 65s of course. :))

Sat on a Hyosung 650 thing, and It was "ok", but one thing I did like, is the bars being swept backward a little.  Might be one of the things I've been trying to do to the 919.

And I discovered that I missed my little TTR-125L.  Though the under sprung suspension, for a full grown (OK,.. mostly full grown)  adult, isn't something I've regretted giving up.   *sigh*  But it's not like I have enough room to keep every bike and car I've ever owned.

We also tried on a few helmets, and the ZOX ones were interesting.  Light, removable pads, DOT approved, some Snell approved, and inexpensive.  So I'll be doing some research on those puppies, since I seem to go through a helmet a year currently.
