What service is required to be performed by the stealer, in order to keep your OEM warranty/extended warranty in effect?? For instance a work bud purchased a Geezer glide and was going to be charged $350.00 for the 1k service he was told had to be done by the stealer or the warranty would be void!!! BS we contacted hondue USA and it was free with the Geezer. Has any done the 600 service themselves and had a prob? This is a $150.00 bill @ my stealer on the busa.

In the USA there's a thing called the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. One of the things it does is forbids anyone from requiring service be performed by the manufacturer or authorized agent unless that service is provided free. Since Suzuki doesn't provide free warranty service, anyone can do it, including the owner. You would be wise to retain records and receipts of what you do in the event you need to make a claim though.

Another cool thing the MMWA does is it allows you to modify your product and the manufacturer can't deny your warranty claim unless they can prove what you changed was the cause of the failure.

Well, the weather was pretty decent during the week, but the clouds moved in just in time for the weekend. Oh well, that's OK, I'm working the weekend anywhoo.

...and the DVR is recording the MotoGP action.

Yep just like down here! Weekend's seem to be too windy,hot, or threat of rain! Won't spoil the race (which I'm sure you know) But those Hayden boys are a national treasure or should be! closer!

It's a little different in Oz. You can get your vehicle (Bike or Car) serviced by any suitably qualified mechanic and providing he/she fills out (stamps) the service card/sheet you're covered.

If you modify your bike or car, then you may have a battle on your hands, but that also depends on how good your dealer is...

In New Zealand it is a requirment to have scheduled services carried out by an authorised agency but not nessessarily the franchise holder.

I have tried non-dealer outfits and have had nothing but dissapointment in the past. Dealers may be slightly more costly but over here I have nothing but god things to say about the local dealer.

I know I know that it is not always the case, but hey credit where credit is due.
