Well, something learned today!  Now I can goof off for the rest of the day.  Strange that this isn't addressed as a maintenance item.

Repop filters are cheap enough and the filter paper mostly comes from one or two manufacturers, no matter whose name is on the filter.......so why not change it EVERY time ??!!??
As Red says, it's cheap insurance, and, on a cost basis, you can buy a LOT of filters for the price of an engine overhaul.....
