Did you ever just not want to stop???
« on: August 24, 2005, 08:09:04 AM »
Woke up early last Sunday about 0530, checked outside and it was starting to shape up to be a great clear nearly end of winters day.  My plan was to not wake any of the family while I stumbled about the kitchen,  write a quick note to say gone for early morning ride and then push bike to end of block.  So far so good (well at least I had a plan).

Delay no. 1: Wife stumbled out with 5 week old and said your turn, handed me said hungry baby and went back to bed.  Twenty minutes later and baby back in bed.

Delay no. 2: I find bike in garage with not one but two cars blocking getaway, not to mention 3 pushbikes in various positions that have left reminders on both my calf muscles.

Just begining to think maybe a day at home doing long forgotten chores would be easier.

Determination won and 10 minutes later I am hauling down the state highway on the way to brother in laws (if i am to be in the sh*** I don't want to be alone) to convince him that it is a great day to find some twisties and have a bit of a play.

Did I say convince brother in law??? He has just bought a little fire cracker vtz 250 so did not need any excuses.

What a great day.  Three hours of twisties of all descriptions on the way there and 3 hours back.  Not a breath of wind for the entire trip.  Only saw half a dozen other vehicles on the roads.  The day warmed up to a point where I nearly zipped out the thermal liner (not quite).  Both bikes performed extemely well (my 05 B12 returned 39.1 mpg / 16.3km/ lt .

I just did not want the day to end.

I hope I can have a repeat performance sometime soon.  I am sure that it is possible as soon as I am no longer grounded until petrol is free.

Sounds like a nice ride.  I love it when there's no cars on the road.

There's nothing like an early morning ride, IMO.  Just you, the machine, and the mist.

I hate this friggin' cubicle.
Ever noticed that they don't make helmets out of bone? There's a reason.

Well done for not staying in! Nothing like a bike ride, especially when other things are getting in the way.

Only every time I take my bike out of the garage.

Commutes are especially tough.
It always seems the bike is really hard to steer into the parking lot @ work.
