Does anybody have sliders fitted?
« on: May 01, 2007, 07:19:52 AM »
I've never had these before and was wondering if it's worth putting them on assuming that there are ones to fit.

Thanks

I haven't seen 'em show up for the '07's yet, but there are several variations out there for the earlier models. I'm sure they'd help, but I don't have any experience with any of them. I did choose to install NRC engine covers to protect the engine in case of a spill, but thankfully have never had to test mine out. I have seen some get tested though - and they do work well.

Try to make sure that the ones that you get don't mount directly to the engine.  I think this is easier on the Bandits, than on say a 919, but often the sliders will reuse a bolt hole that secures the engine to the frame.

I've seen more than one pic where the crash tears the engine mount from the engine.  (Of course, because I'm looking now, I can't find it.)

I just put on the swing arm bobbins, bar ends to match and NRC case covers. Then did a test on them in turn4 @ Nelson Ledges. I have some flat spots on the front and back plastics on the left side, but its the part when you quit sliding when you hit the grass and flip that gets you.some stiched&mended up plastics on the right side.  Dan
